I'm only passing through...
Or At Least That I've Seen
Published on February 24, 2004 By new-age nomad In Entertainment
Crybaby: Johnny Depp dressed like Elvis Presley, need I say more?
Favorite Line: "Kiss me Alison, kiss me HARD."

The Cure: Brad Renfro is the perfect portrait of love, as is his little friend.
Favorite Line: "Let's say I was walking through the grass and accidentally stepped in your mother."

Almost Famous: Who doesn't like this movie? It's one of the greats.
Favorite Line: "Your aura! Your aura is purple!"

A Goofy Movie: I like that this movie ends with Goofy falling through the roof; although it ends happily, it's not happily ever after. I just think it's true to life---love does conquer all but that's not to say there won't be obstacles.
Favorite Line: "Though he seems intoxicated, he's just highly animated, and he's nobody else, but Y_O_U!"

The Princess Bride: Another classic...if you don't like this one, we can no longer be friends. *winks*
Favorite Line: "As you wish..." awww dreamy...

Dangerous Minds: Teacher movie, but the best one yet. It raised the bar. Michelle Phifer (sp?) rocks!
Favorite Line: "So what? You gonna try and psychologize me now? Well, let me help you out, I come from a broken home and I'm poor, ok? How the f*ck you gonna save me from my life?"

My Girl I and II: Veda Sultenpuss is awesome!!! I wanted to be like her my whole life!
Favorite Line in #1: "I'M NOT SHICKEN!"
Favorite Line in #2: "That thing you said about your nose not looking like anyone elses...it's your nose."

Boyz and Girlz: Not widely known, kind of a B-movie, but not really. It deals alot with trust issues and letting go, plus it's hillarious.
Favorite Line: "Does it bother you that I'm having my period right now? We could have sex right now and I wouldn't get pregnant."

Ferris Buelar's Day Off: It reminds us that life is for living, not watching.
Favorite Line: "Buelar, Buelar, Buelar, Buelar, Buelar"

Office Space: This one has become one of the greats in many people's eyes. I would have to agree. It's soooo funny.
Favorite Line: "What would you do if you were rich and didn't have to work?'.......'Nothing'......"Man, you don't have to be rich to do nothing, look at my cousin. He's broke, don't do shit."

Son In Law: Ok, no cracking on the Pauly Shore fans out here. You know you secretly love the guy.
Favorite Line: "And on that farm he had a kid....with squishy puffy cheeks..."

Mall Rats: One of the many Jay and Silent Bob movies...the best in my opinion. Pure cleverness.
Favorite Line: "I would do it, but I threw my back out hump'n your mom last night---nooge!"

I may make a new list later, but these are the main ones. What's you favorite?

I think "What About Bob" belongs in there. Bill Murray.. wow.

Favorite lines:

"DOCTOR LEO MARVIN!"
"Bob, where did you put that dynamite that I put around your neck?" "In the house." *huge explosion*

and Finding Nemo just for this one line:

"And I will call him squishy and he will be mine and he will be my squishy." What an awesome thing to say!

and Airplane II:

"Have you ever seen a grown man... naked?"

and Airplane I:

"I'm sorry, there are no pets on this plane. Spot will have to die." *gun shot, dog falls over* "Just kidding!" *dog reanimates*

but best of all, Donny Darko:

"I'll tell you what he said! He told me to forcibly insert the lifeline exercise card into my anus!"

and on that note,

I totally agree on Princess Bride and Office Space, though I'd like to add: Donnie Darko, What About Bob, Finding Nemo, Lilo and Stitch, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and the Shining (Kubrick version)

haha so many donnie darko fans! "Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!"

if i had to choose, i'd take seven samurai and aliens as the two movies i'd take with me on a desert island (that is oddly equipped with a player, tv, and electricity).

Office Space Fav quote: "Mmmm, yeeeaah"

Princess Bride Fav quote: "'No more rhyming, I mean it!' 'Anybody want a peanut?'"

Trent-- I agree, Finding Nemo gotta be on there, I think Monsters Inc. too that was a great one.

Let's see what else...

I gotta say The Matrix (the first one, although I loved all three, the first was huuuuge to me)
-Whether you've seen it or not, there is one single line you need to get from it, when Morpheus says to Neo,
"Neo, sooner or later you're going to realize just as I did; there's a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path."

Oh man forget these:

"Field of Dreams" with Kevin Costner and I forget who else...only seen it once but whoa... whoa man.

"Remember the Titans" That is a powerful movie.

on Feb 24, 2004
how about:

Retrn of the Living Dead: "Tina, if you loved me, you'd let me eat your brain!" and "Apparently, it hurts to be dead"

Dead Alive: "I Kick Ass For The Lord!"

"but it's so simple, all that i have to do is divide from what i know about you... are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet, or his enemy's?

now a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, knowing that only a great fool would reach for what he was given, so i can clearly not choose the wine in front of you...

but you must have known i was not a great fool, so i can clearly not choose the wine in front of me..."

"Truly you have a dizzying intellect... "

"Wait til i get going!!"

Where was I?

"because everyone knows that iocaine comes from Australia... Australia is a land commoned with criminals, criminals which are not used to being trusted, just as I am not trusted by you, so i can clearly not choose the wine, in front of me...

but you must have expected that i would have known the powder's origin, so i can clearly not choose the wine, in front of you..."

(thought you would appreciate the Australia reference Mug

and how can we forget - (don't know if this is exact, but if you're seen it, you know what i'm talking about..."

"we're selling their own fat back to 'em"

"We'll never survive!"

"Nonsense, you're only saying that because no one ever has..."

I'm going to go with Better Off Dead with John Cusak and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The last great movie I saw was Amelie...hey, I'm man enough to say when I've seen a good chick-flick.

When I was a kid we rented The Last Star Fighter like 100 times, we probably could've bought the rights to the movie for what we paid in late fees for it.

"That Vizzini, he can fuss"
"Fuss, fuss...I think he like to scream at us"
"Probably he means no harm."
"He's really very short on charm."
"You have a great gift for rhyme."
"Yes, yes some of the time."
-Enough of that!
"Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?"
"If there are, we all be dead!"
-No more rhymes now, I mean it!
"Anybody want a peanut?"
